This FAQ Guide will show you the Step by Step process to setup and start using UpViral with Zapier. As you already know, Zapier works on Triggers and their corresponding actions. You will need to set Triggers and the actions when the trigger is executed.

Step 1 - Setting up UpViral in Zapier

Before you start using Zapier with UpViral, you need to setup and add UpViral in Zapier. To start off you will first need to add UpViral into your Zapier Integrations.

Login to your Zapier account here: https://zapier.com/sign-up or create a new account.

Navigate to Connected Accounts from the top menu bar.

Now click on Connect new account and search for Upviral.

Use your credentials to connect your Upviral account to Zapier.

Once that's done you can start creating an automation! Use a pre-made Zap or create your own with the Zap Editor. Creating a Zap requires no coding knowledge and you'll be walked step-by-step through the setup.

All Zaps contains three critical components; Triggers, Actions, and Filters.

Triggers

A Trigger is something that happens in an app that you want to be the start of a zap's workflow. For example, if you want to push New Leads from UpViral Campaign and add them to a Mailchimp list, New Leads is the Trigger. There can ONLY be one Trigger in a given zap.

Actions

An Action is something your Zap does after a Trigger occurs. To continue the above example, if you use a Zap to take UpViral Campaign New Leads and add them to a Mailchimp list, Mailchimp's 'Add Subscriber' would be the Action for that Zap. A Zap can only have one Trigger, but it can have many Actions. There are 2 types of actions:

Filters

Filters are a way to ensure actions get performed only on the items you want. Filters let you set a condition (e.g. when the 'email' field contains 'gmail.com') so you can get to the granularity you need. When a triggered item meets the conditions of a filter, it proceeds to the next action. If a filter stops an item, then no further actions or filters are performed against that item.

Step 3 - Create a Zap

Once you click the “Make a Zap” button it will open up the Zap Editor where you will configure your Zap.

Note: We will show a simple example to add New Leads from your UpViral Campaign to an Autoresponder

A - Adding Triggers

The first step starts off with creating Triggers.

Here you will need to add your app from which you want to setup a trigger. Search and select UpViral from the list.

After you have selected the UpViral from the list you will need to setup its trigger. Each app has its own set of Triggers available. For UpViral this is the “New Lead” trigger.

If you are using UpViral for the first time on Zapier you will need to connect it before using it.

Click “Create a New Account” and this will open a popup window, asking you to add the API key from UpViral before you can start using it.

To connect your Zapier to Upviral, go to the Integration section of your Upviral and choose which Zap you'd like to use.
