If you're using your own form on your website and want to integrate it with UpViral, you can easily do so by following the steps below.
Before setting up UpViral, it's important to note that your audience will need to enter their email address in an UpViral form in order for it to work. This can be done through our widget or an HTML form on your own page. Depending on how you plan to integrate UpViral, the installation process will differ slightly.
If you have already launched your campaign and have an opt-in and share design created, feel free to skip steps 1-4. Otherwise, follow these steps:
Step 1 - Create a new UpViral campaign by clicking on "Create New Campaign" at the top of your dashboard.
Step 2 - Once you have created an UpViral campaign, navigate to the Design Pages section to create the opt-in and share widget designs. It is crucial to have both designs ready before installing UpViral on your website to ensure a successful campaign launch.
Step 3 - When editing either your opt-in page or share page templates, make sure you click on the third button (widget view) at the topmost portion of the page so that you can preview how the UpViral widget will look on your live page.
For HTML form setups, you don't necessarily need to design your opt-in form since you'll be using your own page's form which usually already has its own design. You just need to ensure that the fields on your UpViral form are consistent with the fields you have on your website’s lead form. For instance, if you have a phone field on your website's lead form, ensure you also have a phone field on your UpViral form.
Step 4 - Once you have created your opt-in and share designs, you are ready to embed your campaign to your Shopify page. Click on the "Launch Campaign" button to proceed with the integration process.
Step 5 - Installation
On the Publish page, click on the “Embed” button then click “+ Embed campaign on another website”
5.1. This will direct you to the next page where you will:
Select "Use Opt-in form of my Website" to embed the campaign to your own website via HTML Form code.
Add the website URL where you wish to embed the opt-in widget.
5.2. In the Opt-in widget settings, you can choose HTML Form Code to embed your campaign to your own website using your existing lead form.
6.3. In the Share widget settings, you have two options. You can choose to display the share widget on the same page as your opt-in widget or redirect it to another page using a third-party tool.
If you choose to redirect the share widget to another page, you will need to enter the page URL where you want it to appear after the user has signed up. In addition to the Step 2 options, you will also be able to preview your Share widget as shown below:
6.4. Finally, the fourth step will show you the codes that you need to copy and paste into your website's editor. If you are not familiar with how to add codes to your webpage, you may need to seek assistance from your web host or a web developer.
To test your Upviral integration, go back to the Installation page and click on "Test Embedding". If the test is successful, click on "Save" to apply the changes.
Configure the destination of your referral traffic by specifying the URL where you want to redirect the referral links of your participants. This will determine where your participants' referrals will redirect once clicked.
