You might see the following error codes below upon clicking the Facebook or Messenger social share buttons on your UpViral share widget:

“This dialog has been passed as a bad parameter”

“API Error Code: 100”

“API Error Description: Invalid parameter”

“Error message link should represent a valid URL”

“href should represent a valid URL”

This occurs when the Referral Tracking Domain you set up isn’t a valid URL. You must make sure that the URL you put in the Referral Tracking Domain must redirect to an actual domain (ex. subdomain.domain.com).

To resolve this, you can follow either of the options below:

OPTION 1. Use the upvir.al/sociali.io tracking domains

Step 1. On your campaign, click on "Edit campaign"

Step 2. Navigate to "Tracking Codes" and click on Edit beside the Referral Tracking Domain option

Step 3. Select upvir.al/sociali.io on the dropdown menu (either URL works)

Step 4. Hit Save

OPTION 2. Use your custom domain
